What is Adak (Nazr) Qurbani?

An Adak (Nazr) is when a person, even though not religiously obliged, promises Allah to perform an act of worship on the condition that a specific desire or need is fulfilled. Once the wish is granted, keeping this promise becomes a duty, and offering the vowed Qurbani becomes religiously obligatory (Wajib).
